Iker Casillas will be FC Porto goalkeeper next season.
The Spaniard remained one year until the end of the current contract and still seemed a few weeks ago that he was going to shorten it. The goalkeeper was looking for a new club, and the Portuguese were willing to sell him because of the need to reduce their payroll.
The experienced goalie was linked with Liverpool or Paris Saint-Germain, but the reports quickly ceased. The agent of the 36-year-old was supposed to offer him Sevilla and Napoli, but none of these clubs was interested in acquiring him.
Casillas arrived in Porto in 2015. He presented very good form last season, which is proved by statistics. In 33 league matches, Casillas maintained 19 clean sheets.
