Kyle Walker has become a new player of Manchester City.
The transfer of Tottenham's right-back to Etihad has been settled for several hours. Now, "The Citizens" reported on his transfer. Walker contracted with them until 30 June 2022.
The club from the blue part of Manchester did not confirm this, but the British media reported that bringing Walker cost them £50m. If it is true, the Englishman will be the most expensive defender in the history of football along with David Luiz and John Stones. However, there is a second version, according to which the defender cost 45 million pounds, and this amount can only increase to 50 million with bonuses.
"I am extremely excited to have signed a contract with City and cannot wait to be on my first training. Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and feels he can help me get on an even higher level," said Walker, who has been representing Tottenham since 2009.
At that time the defender played in 229 official games in the jersey of Spurs. He scored four goals and added 21 assists.
For "The Citizens" this is the second record transfer this summer. Earlier they signed Ederson for 35 million (in pounds), which makes him the most expensive goalkeeper in history. City also did not save money on Bernardo Silva - £42.5m.
