Leonardo Bonucci has become a new player of AC Milan.
Juventus defender's transfer case appeared in the media completely out of blue. So far, the Italian has been linked only with the move to the Premier League, but "Old Lady" have rejected other offers from the rich teams. However, the transfer was made to Milan, who benefited from the fact that Bonucci did not consider moving abroad due to his family.
The 30-year-old appeared in Milan last night to complete the last details of the deal. Now Milan have confirmed their agreement with the Turin, and the defender will at any moment pass the final tests. His contract with Milan will be valid until 30 June 2022.
According to information provided by, among other media, "Sky Sport Italia", the player will make a profit of 6.5 million euros every season. It is three million euro more than he earned in the Italian champions team. Juventus will receive about 40 million euros plus two million euros of bonuses. Thus defensor became the most expensive player more than 30 years old (so far it was Gabriel Batistuta who held the record).
Bonucci has been in Juventus since 2010. He came to Turin from Bari and his card cost 15.5 million euros. At the beginning of his adventure with the Bianconeris, he had problems maintaining good form, and he met with criticism. Over time, he developed into one of the best central defenders in the world.
The defender is one of six players of Juventus who have won all six Italian championships in a row. In recent years, the player has shown great affection for the colors of the Turin, which he showed even watching the match from the stands of passionate "Juve" fans when he could not play. In several matches he also served as captain.
Despite his important role in the band, Bonucci was having trouble in the locker room. In the current season he has been in conflict with coach Massimiliano Allegri, and the immediate cause of his transfer was a conflict in the team that broke out in the final of the Champions League - Bonucci and Dani Alves pinned the rest of the team on mistakes and started arguing. It was after this incident when Juventus had decided to get rid of both players.
By signing with Milan, Bonucci joins the ranks of all three of the most successful clubs in Italy - Juventus, Milan and Inter. The defender began his career as a "Nerazzurri", but before leaving for Bari he played only in four matches (league and cups).
