Aston Villa have announced that John Terry has become a new captain of their team.
The legend of Chelsea FC has moved to Birmingham club in this window, just after expiration of the contract with the champions of England. There were many offers for him, even some from the Premier League, but Terry did not want to play against "The Blues", so he decided to play in a league one level lower.
The 36-year-old experienced defender has signed the contract for 12 months and is about to help his club mates return to the highest level of play in England. In addition to the reluctance to play against Chelsea, Terry agreed to play for Aston Villa to work with his friend, Steve Bruce, who is the manager of the club.
John Terry has never left Chelsea on a permanent basis throughout his football career. The central defender played for one season on loan at Nottingham, but the vast majority of games he played at Stamford Bridge. Captain of Aston Villa has performed in the colors of the current champion of England in 690 games overall.
