Galatasaray have informed about finalizing their next transfer.
This time, it was Mariano. The right-back came to Istanbul and signed a contract with the fourth team of last season's Turkish Premier League. The Bosphorus Club have not informed about the length of the contract and the transfer fee that has been sent to the Sevillian account. According to the media, the Spaniards will receive 4.5-5 million euros for the player, while Mariano has signed a three-year deal to earn at least six million euros.
Thanks to this transfer, Mariano is ranked sixth among the most sold right-back defenders who had at least 30 years at the transfer time. The more expensive ones were Gianluca Zambrotta, Dusan Basta, Massimo Oddo, Nelson Vivas and Juliano Beletti.
Mariano moved to Europe only in 2012 when he switched Fluminense to Girondis Bordeaux. For Guarani trainee, Galatasaray will be the third club on the "Old Continent".
During the two years spent on Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, the 31-year-old played in eighty games, in which he scored one goal and added nine assists. He won the European League trophy last year.
This is Galatasaray's fourth summer reinforcement. Earlier, the club's squad was strengthened by Bafétimbi Gomis, Younès Belhanda and Maicon.
