Rachid Ghezzal has become a new player of AS Monaco.
The 25-year-old winger contracted with the club with a deal valid until June 30, 2021. The French champions signed him on a free transfer.
The 11-time Algeria international has remained without the club since his contract with Olympique Lyonnais expired at the end of June. Ghezzal has trained there since 2004, playing in their first team in 119 official games. The 25-year-old's previous season record was 26 appearances, two goals and four assists in Ligue 1.
The media speculate that his introduction by ASM could mean Thomas Lemar's transfer. The 21-year-old, who has been one of the biggest stars of previous campaign, is on target for Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Bringing Ghezzal is the eighth summer transfer of the champion of France. Previously, Youri Tielemans, Terence Kongolo, Adama Diakhaby, Soualiho Meïté, Jordi Mboula, Diego Benaglio and Jordy Gaspar (also previously played in OL).
