Mario Lemina has become a new player of Southampton.
The six-time Gabon international, who has previously played for Juventus, has contracted with the Saints until June 30, 2022. As confirmed by "Old Lady", they will receive 17 million euros. This amount may increase by another three million for bonuses.
"I'm happy with this move. This is an extremely attractive project for me. Together with my whole family, we are happy to be playing here," admitted Lemina after the transfer confirmation. His remittance is one of the largest transfers in Southampton history, whose record deal was €23 million (2014, Sadio Mané bought from Salzburg).
Lemina has been at Juventus since 2015 when he came on loan from Olympique de Marseille. After 12 months, "Old Lady" decided to buy him. In all, the 23-year-old played in 42 official games in their jersey. Taking into account the previous season, he recorded 19 Serie A appearances, scored a goal and recorded an assist.
This is Southampton's second transfer before the new season. Previously, the eighth team of the previous Premier League season has signed Jan Bednarek from Lech Poznan.
