English media confirm that the second Barcelona's offer for Philippe Coutinho was rejected by Liverpool.
English journalists have established that Barcelona's second offer contained only 85 million euros of the base that Liverpool would receive immediately. In the additional clauses was added yet another 15 million euros, paid according to the Brazilian disposition. The whole transaction could reach the price of 100 million euros. Earlier it was said that the 25-year-old can cost up to 120 million.
Liverpool's executives are, however, unyielding. A few weeks ago they announced that Coutinho would not be sold in the current transfer window. On the other hand they are irritated by Barcelona, who would like to make up for the loss of Neymar. "Pride of Catalonia" plan to do so by buying the player of "The Reds" and Ousmane Dembélé.
The offers for both players are around a hundred million euros, but keep in mind that the "Blaugrana" budget is not infinite. Even after a solid injection of cash from Neymar's sale, activists may run out of funds to finalize both operations. Especially if they continue to come across such resistance from the negotiators of Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. At this point, everything indicates that their negotiating efforts can focus on the young Frenchman.
Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph has written that for Liverpool, the transfer of Coutinho is already a closed topic after another decisive refusal and informing Barcelona of the lack of market availability of the Brazilian. The English club leaves the matter behind and concentrates on preparing for the new Premier League season.
