Barcelona have published a statement on Luis Suárez's health status. Previous reports of Spanish journalists were therefore confirmed.
"Suárez will pause for about four weeks. Morning examination showed problems with articular capsule in his right knee. The player suffered an injury during Wednesday's game against Real Madrid," we read in a statement.
The Uruguayan's break means that we are unlikely to see him on the pitch during Barcelona's matches against Betis, Deportivo Alavés, Espanyol and Getafe.
Suárez suffered a knee injury in the second half against Real (0-2). The coach Ernesto Valverde has already used the limit of substitutions, so the striker for a time had to struggle on the pitch. Recall that just after the break Gerard Piqué also left the pitch due to an injury. However, it was not so serious.
As we read: "Studies showed him overloading the left adductor muscle. Further observation will give us the answer if he will be ready to play against Betis." The match with the Andalusian club will take place on Sunday.
