Sporting CP have confirmed on the official website that the transfer of Adrien Silva to Leicester City has been finalized.
The Portuguese have revealed on their website all the details of Portugal international's transfer to England. "Foxes" paid 29.5 million euro for the central midfielder. Sporting also secured 15 percent of Silva's transfer if the English club decided to sell him in the future. This is the second highest transfer ever in Leicester history. The most expensive remains Islam Slimani, who came to England last year from Sporting for 30 million euros.
The last day of the transfer window was very hot in Leicester City offices. The English were preparing for the sale of Danny Drinkwater, who was on the lookout for Chelsea and eventually changed club colors. "Foxes" were supposed to replace him with Adrien Silva, who has been under surveillance of club scouts for years.
Former England champions have been in talks with the Portuguese about buying the 28-year-old and have only just registered a deal in FIFA. Leicester was fourteen seconds late so the player could not play in their colors until January, but that does not mean that the transfer did not take place. The Portuguese was sold, but not registered, so he will have plenty of time to acclimatize in the new environment.
