Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been accused of racially insulting Levante’s Jefferson Lerma during the side’s league meeting last week, say reports.
Television cameras picked up the full-back shouting a series of insults at the Colombian midfielder which included the term ‘monkey’, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Lerma was later involved in another incident in the clash at the Bernabeu as he was kicked by Madrid’s Marcelo, who received a straight red card.
El Pilon state La Liga are now likely to open an investigation into the incident although the Spanish international’s comments were not reported in the referee’s report.
There are also set to be investigations into two other Spanish top flight matches where alleged racial abuse is said to have taken place - Barcelona v Espanyol and Leganes v Getafe.
