Polak became a favorite of fans of the Belgian club and its icon, achieving four Belgian championships with them. After the "Violets" adventure, he went to Leicester City and he also reached the national championship title with "the Foxes". The team from King Power Stadium unexpectedly won it under Claudio Ranieri.

Before going abroad, "Wasyl" performed in Ekstraklasa in the colors of Śląsk Wroclaw, Wisla Plock, Amica Wronki and mentioned Lech. In all, he played in 149 games in homeland in which he scored 17 goals.

Wasilewski moved to Wisla on a free transfer. After a summer departure from Leicester, he was linked with moving to Belgium, but eventually he landed next to the Vistula River. For the 37-year-old it is a return to the hometown.
