Sergi Samper is no longer a FC Barcelona player.
Spanish club announced the termination of his contract by mutual agreement. This has not yet been confirmed, but the 24-year-old defensive midfielder set to become the new player of Vissel Kobe in Japan.
Samper is a home-grown Barcelona player. He has 13 appearances in their first team and over 100 in reserves. The Catalan club in the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons loaned him to Granada and Las Palmas. In the current competition Samper appeared on the pitch only once - in the October match of the Copa del Rey with Cultural y Deportiva Leones (1: 0).
In the near future, the situation of the Spaniard in Barcelona would rather not change and hence the decision to break up.
In Vissel, Samper will join to Andrés Iniesta, David Villa and Lukas Podolski.
In the two previous matches of the 2019 season of the Japanese first league (J League), the Kobe team won three points.
