TSG Hoffenheim have informed about signing the deal with the Dutchman Alfred Schreuder. He will become their head coach this summer.
Hence, he is set to replace Julian Nagelsmann, 31. It was confirmed back in June 2018 that Nagelsmann will join RB Leipzig in the 2019/2020 season.
Schreuder, 46, has signed a deal valid until June 30, 2022. His signature means weakening of Ajax, where he has worked as an assistant of Erik ten Hag since 2018.
This means that Schreuder is making his comeback to Hoffenheim, where he used to be an assistant of Huub Stevens, and then Nagelsmann. Later he decided to move back to the Netherlands to be closer to his family. Now he is set to move to Germany with them.
Hiring Schreuder should not change the Hoffenheim's playing style very much. "He has proved that he represents the style of football that is close to Hoffenheim: brave, fresh, offensive," said Dietmar Hopp, the owner of TSG.
