Marcin Wasilewski has become a new Wisla Cracow player.
The 60-time Poland international signed a contract with the "White Star" valid until the end of the current season with the option of extending it for another 12 months.
For Wasilewski this is a great return to Ekstraklasa after almost 11 years. At the beginning of 2007 he moved from Lech Poznań to Anderlecht. Polak became a favorite of fans of the Belgian club and its icon, achieving four Belgian championships with them. After the "Violets" adventure, he went to Leicester City and he also reached the national championship title with "the Foxes". The team from King Power Stadium unexpectedly won it under Claudio Ranieri.
Before going abroad, "Wasyl" performed in Ekstraklasa in the colors of Śląsk Wroclaw, Wisla Plock, Amica Wronki and mentioned Lech. In all, he played in 149 games in homeland in which he scored 17 goals.
Wasilewski moved to Wisla on a free transfer. After a summer departure from Leicester, he was linked with moving to Belgium, but eventually he landed next to the Vistula River. For the 37-year-old it is a return to the hometown.
